Hi and Welcome!

Well, it looks like this summer’s been one of the coolest on record, so far. I don’t want to jinx anything, though. If it’s this way until the end of the month, we’ve got a really good chance at a decent Fall. October’s always been my favorite month, anyway. Of course, the falling of the leaves plays merry hell with my allergies, but it’s all for a good cause so I don’t mind it that much.

Family members, both blood relatives and those related by marriage, arrived at all hours to give their last goodbyes to the moribund man. They would greet each other, embrace each other, and give each other condolences over the impending death. The immediate family was simply on a death vigil, waiting for death to claim him.

I know, here I go again.

“What now” you might ask? Well, the mayor was up to his old tricks again.

After months of posturing by the municipal court, the city attorney and our mayor, any hope of real and meaningful change is over.

The efforts made by one-half of the council to bring efficiency and transparency to municipal court were crushed with a single blow by those seemingly beholden to the city attorney. As I’ve mentioned before the Mayor and Councilman Ernest Santos both have a conflict of interest when it comes to issues that involve the city attorney for whom both work for defacto (Mr. Flores is the 30+ year President of the Junior College Board) at Southwest Texas Junior College.
